So here is my latest thing I'm working on... Halloween costumes. Now I'm usually pretty on top of things when it comes to getting Halloween costumes for my boys, but this year, it just seemed to creep up on me, and now here it suddenly is Oct. Some may be wondering "geez Melis, you still have a month!" But I don't really. Our ward is having the trunk or treat in 2 WEEKS!!!! (apparently they couldn't get any of the church buildings any closer to the 31st.) So I asked the boys what they want to be for Halloween, and this is what I got...
Brayden wants to be...

And Conner wants to be...

Now both of these choices are fine and great, I'm just trying to find them for less the $30 a piece. I hate spending a bunch of money on costumes, especially when I have to buy 2. So I have been watching Ebay like a hawk the last few days. I have my eye on a few, so hopefully they won't get bid up too high. And by too high, I mean more then I'm willing to pay.
Anyone know any good websites or anywhere to get good costumes for cheap???
I tried really hard to convince Conner to be a Power Ranger, since I have 2 Power Ranger costumes from Brayden for the past few years. But he didn't go for it. Dang it, my kids are too old for me to pick what they will be!
I love Halloween though, I really should get all my cute decorations out....

I bought Emily's costume for 40% off at Shopko a week or so ago...no way was I going to pay full price for it. Tyler still fits his costume from last year. :) And I bought Owen's from the DI. Sorry...I'm not really any help.
Hey, if you find good websites let me know- I have four costumes to buy and the ones they want are expensive!
Try this
http://store.babycenter.com/category/seasonal-special+categories/halloween+boutique/2-4t+costumes.do
I got Lizzie's costume there for 25 with shipping and all. They are having a sale, though I am not sure what size your boys are!
Sometimes pajamas make awesome costumes. We did that for Zach one year when he wanted to be Buzz Lightyear. We bought the $15 pajamas and he was good to go. Plus he could wear them to bed.
Another great place is thrift stores. Sometimes they have quite the find!!!
Good luck!
Try Craigslist. You could buy the ones you need and sale the ones you have that they don't fit in/want anymore. I sold a few of Britton's past costumes and had enough to buy what we need for this year. Plus Craigslist is free and no shipping problems. Good luck.
OK, I got this info from pinchingyourpennies.com a site I live off of for online deals. If you go to that site, click on forums, then click on screaming deals online. Then it has the link to Halloween deals. There are codes for free shipping & such.
Here are some of the Halloween sites:
celebrateexpress.com, they have a code for free shipping CWM-484
Oh goodness, there is a link to a million places on there. Go there. If you can't figure it out, email me with your phone number & I'll call you to figure it out.
You are too cute! Do you want to make a horse costume while you are at it? Because there are NO cute horse costumes for girls and Callie doesn't want to be anything else and I know that she is still young enough that I SHOULD get to pick but Sean says if the girl wants to be a horse then she should be a horse.....LAME!!!!
I bet your boys will look AWESOME! Happy bidding and good luck I hope you pay next to nothing for your costumes!!!
