Randomness....

Is that even a word?? It is now!
I haven't been blogging much mostly because not too much has been going on to blog about. I guess you could say we lead fairly boring lives. Nothing big and exciting has happened. It just seemed like a good idea to blog, and I forgot that I haven't posted these pics of the kids.

A few weeks ago, Patrick had had a pretty rough week at work, so he decided that he just wanted to go do something fun as a family to help him unwind. So we decided to go check out Red Rock. A fun recreational area just west of Vegas. We have never been out there, but heard it was a pretty area and was fun to take your family up there. So we went to lunch and then headed out to Red Rock. We didn't realize that you had to pay to get into the main part, and we didn't have enough cash on us, and really didn't want to go back into Vegas to get some, so we decided to drive around and find other places to park that you didn't have to pay for.

Here is the "Red Rock" area. If we had paid to go in, we really just would have been closer to the rocks, and I think that there is a visitor center type thingy there. But we were still able to get some cool pictures, and the boys thought it was pretty fun.

As we were driving around, we happened to stop and park at one of many hiking trails. So Patrick said, "you boys wanna go on a hike?" Sadly they didn't really know what that meant!  :)  We are kinda indoor people!!! Can ya tell?!?!  Growing up, my family never went out on family hikes, or camp outs or anything like that because since my dad worked for the Forest Service his whole career, and was out in the woods a lot hiking around and arresting bad guys  (lol!!)  :)  He always said he didn't want to spend his weekends there too. He did of course take us kids out a few times to hike Thumb Butte or to Lynx Lake and hike around it (all you Prescottonians know what I'm talking about!!) But never anything too big. So hiking and camping is not high on my "favorite things to do" list.... but it's not that I hate it, just not a favorite activity. However, Patrick tells me this will have to change having all boys, and getting involved with scouting and whatnot.  My opinion, I'll participate for fun, but hiking for 2 days, carrying a huge backpack and sleeping on the ground does NOT sound like fun to me.  So we just settled for this fun little, super easy trail. We weren't planning on hiking, hence the reason I'm carrying my purse, and wearing shoes that aren't exactly for hiking, but we walked around a bit, let the boys run around, and they thought it was just about the coolest thing we have ever done! Conner pointed out every pile of horse poop we passed, I'm not sure why, apparently he thought it was fascinating. As soon as we got back in the car to head home, they were asking when we could go hiking again. We told them next time we will come better prepared so we can hike a little longer, and they can't wait!!

8 Years Together......

8 Years ago today, Patrick and I were married in the Mesa, AZ Temple!! I can't believe it has been 8 years.  Look at how young we were?!?! We look like we are 12!  Ok, so I was 20 and Patrick was 23, but still. Some may say we got married super quick... it was only 6 months from when we met, till we were married. I remember when I was dating Patrick, and I was trying to figure out how I felt about him. I had countless talks with my fun roomie Ashley
(She put up with a lot being my roommate during this time!) but it was one night I was talking to my mom, and I asked her how was I suppose to know if I loved Patrick enough to marry him for eternity. How did she know she wanted to marry my dad?? A few hours later, she called me back and told me she had asked my dad how he knew he wanted to get married way back when, and he simply told her.... "I knew I wanted spent everyday with you. I didn't want a day to go by without you." Now any of you who know my dad, this is NOT the kinda thing you hear him say. So you know that is really how he felt, and he meant it. I then realized that I didn't want a single day to go by that I didn't get to be with Patrick either. (BTW that is one of my favorite stories about my parents!!!) So we had a beautiful wedding, with many of our family and friends there with us. It was an amazing day, and the beginning of many wonderful years to come!

It is amazing how far we have come in 8 years. We were poor college students, and lived in a horribly small, 1 bedroom apartment up in the Avenues of SLC. We were both in school, and deciding what to be when we grew up. We have defiantly had our fair share of trials, and hard times. But the good times are countless!!!!  Now here we are...  2 college degrees.... 2.25 kids..... 5 moves.... 3 houses.... and 1 pet later.... we are even happier then we were 8 years ago!

When we moved to Vegas 2 years ago, we joked with each other that we better be nice to each other, because we are the only friend each other had since we didn't know a single soul in Vegas. I'm so lucky to have married my best friend who thinks I'm the most beautiful girl in the world, and who gets me, and still puts up with me. He makes me laugh, and makes me feel safe, and that any trial can be survived as long as we are in it together, and the good times are only good because we are in it together.  He often jokes that he doesn't know what he did to deserve me, but I am still at a loss of what I did to be so blessed to have him be mine!!

Happy 8 Years Babe!

I can't wait to see what the next 8... 10... 20... 50 years brings!!!

What can I say?!?!

I know, I know, I have been out of the blogging world for quite a while now. I read everyones blogs, even leave comments most the time, but I haven't posted anything in a while. The reason........

What can I say, I've been too sick and tired to do much of anything.   I'm almost 10 weeks, and this baby will be due October 5th (at least for now, they change my due date every time I've gone in.) However I have high hopes that I'll have this one 2 weeks early like I did my other 2 babies! Here's hoping for a September baby.... September is a good month for a birthday!!    (my birthday is in September in case you were wondering!)  :)

Brayden is super excited about the baby, and has been asking me if we have clothes for the baby, if we can go buy some, where will the baby sit at the table and that we'll need to get that baby a booster seat. I assure him that we still have all the baby gear we need. Conner on the other hand, well he is undecided on his feelings about becoming a big brother. When we told him he was going to be a big brother, he got such a sad look on his face, and started to tear up with those big crocodile tears that just break your heart, and said... "but I'm your baby, Mom!"  Oh, it almost sent me over the edge too. I assured him that he will still be my "Conner Baby" but he could still be a big brother. Hopefully he'll warm up to the idea. The boys have thought of a few names for the new baby. Brayden suggested Batman or Aniken. Conner, despite his disapproval of this new baby, suggested naming it Spongebob. Tempting..... but NO!!!

We are all excited and happy to welcome baby #3!!!!!
